From the earliest of baby bumps, the first tender moments of holding your newborn, to celebrating the milestones and every moment with your family. These are the connections that shape your story, and now is the time to capture every single second of it- we know all to well, these moments pass by too quickly.

I create timeless, beautifully natural images that celebrate every stage of motherhood. My luxury Harrogate-based lifestyle & portrait studio is the perfect setting to document these precious moments.

The Studio

My brand new lifestyle studio has been designed with you in mind. Conveniently located just outside Harrogate, making it easily accessible to families from Leeds, Wetherby, Ripon, York, and the surrounding areas of North Yorkshire. Arrive at the studio with plenty of parking, and be welcomed in to the light, bright and airy space, perfect for you to relax, and enjoy the moments in front of you.

The Photography Experience

At Malika Jane Photography, I believe that every stage of your family’s journey deserves to be celebrated. From family photography, maternity photography, newborn photography, baby and milestone photography, I am a firm believer in telling your motherhood story, just as it is! Each session is tailored to reflect your unique story, capturing the love, connections, and joyful moments that make your family special and so you can cherish forever.

You will have everything at hand to help get the most from your session. From access to my online client portal packed full of information to help you prepare for your session, a handy styling guide to help coordinate family outfits, as well as a packed client wardrobe for Mama and littles.

What happens prior to the photography shoot?

A deposit confirms your date in the diary, and you’ll receive all the information and styling guidance needed for your session. I ensure you are fully prepared and confident about your upcoming shoot so if you have any questions, or if I can assist in any way, then please let me know.
What if my newborn arrives early or late?

As a mother myself, I understand that babies arrive on their own schedule. I will pencil in a date 7-10 days after your due date and allow flexibility to accommodate any changes. Just notify me when your little one arrives, and together we will confirm a suitable date when you are home and settled.
What happens during the photography shoot?

On the day of your session, you’ll be welcomed into our Harrogate home studio where you can relax in my beautiful home studio. Your session includes portraits of all the family, newborns, newborns and siblings, siblings and parents as well as family portraits. Each session is unique, designed to reflect the individuality of your family, and I aim to make your entire experience, enjoyable and stress-free.
Is it possible for my partner and other children to be included in the session?

Absolutely! I believe in capturing the excitement and joy of the entire family. Whether it’s a maternity or newborn photoshoot or a birthday session, everyone is welcome to participate. I capture a range of images with all immediate family members, ensuring that your final gallery is filled with diverse and meaningful photos.
What should we wear?

I recommend neutral and natural colours to maintain a timeless feel in your photographs. For family shoots, coordinating colours that complement each other is best. Upon booking, you’ll receive a Welcome Guide with detailed styling tips. I have a packed Mama wardrobe which is perfect for all mamas (and mamas to be!). I also have an extensive wardrobe for younger members - from newborn to toddler!, which you are welcome to use during your session.
Do you offer in-home sessions?

Yes, I do! For families who prefer the comfort of their own homes, I offer tailored sessions that suit your family perfectly. Whether that's the comfort of your home, garden or out and about. Just let me know your preference when booking, and I will arrange everything to ensure a seamless experience. These sessions are perfect for all types of sessions and can also include your four-legged family members.
